On April 15 and 16, 2023, the «JAPAN GEEK FESTIVAL 2023🔎» took place in Zaragoza (Spain), a festival dedicated to contemporary and traditional Japanese culture, video games, manga, high technology, and web culture. The event was held at the Feria de Muestras exhibition center in Zaragoza and was organized by the French company, GEEK EVENTS. The international influencer marketing agency, TUMANAG3R, collaborated in this event, marking its first commercial agreement with this event firm.
GEEK EVENTS🔎 is a French company specializing in events centered around Geek, Japanese, and Otaku culture. It began operating in 2019 and has extensive experience in hosting festivals of this kind in France. In 2023, it reached an agreement with TUMANAG3R to develop these types of events in Spain, with Zaragoza being the first experience. Our agency contributed its expertise in the world of influencers, helping to increase attendance at the festival, which saw more than 12,000 attendees.
TUMANAG3R collaborated with the JAPAN GEEK FESTIVAL 2023 by inviting the influencer León Picaron🔎, a YouTuber with over 7.36 million subscribers, whose channel focuses on the latest news, games, and entertainment related to Sonic and various versions of Minecraft, among others.
YouTuber TownGamePlay🔎 also attended, with 14.9 million subscribers, as a content creator specializing in horror video games and animatronics.
Similarly, TUMANAG3R managed to bring voice actor Pablo Domínguez Lagares to the event. With over 14 years of experience across all dubbing disciplines, including films, series, animation, video games, and voiceovers for major companies, Pablo has worked for leading multinational studios like Netflix, Fox, HBO, Amazon, among others. He is currently the voice of the iconic anime character Son Goku in Dragon Ball in its Spanish version and Teru in the anime Mob Psycho 100. He also lends his voice to Nagatsuka in A Silent Voice and Wasabi in Ride Your Wave, among many others.
The event also featured guest appearances by illustrator Mamoru Yokota, a prominent figure in the world of Japanese animation, who was awarded the title of animation director for his work on iconic animated series like Death Note, Naruto Shippuden, and the design of the movie One Piece Red, which premiered in theaters in August 2022. Mamoru Yokota is a veteran illustrator who has worked on numerous renowned works, and his pencil line is often compared to that of Akira Toriyama.
Another distinguished guest at the event was Takahiro Yoshimatsu, an emblem of Japanese animation who received the title of animation director and character designer for creating characters in iconic series such as Hunter X Hunter, Overlord, Trigun, and Time Bokan 24, among others.
The event attracted a large crowd to various stands and exhibitors, as well as competitions in video games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, FIFA 23, and Gran Turismo, among others. There were also arcade machines, virtual reality experiences, and Just Dance exhibitions.
Additionally, the Japan Geek Festival cosplay contest was held, where the three winners received great prizes and qualified for the grand final of the Japan Geek Cosplay European Cup, which will take place on December 16 and 17, 2023, in the city of Liège (Belgium).
